The Torre de Collserola is a telecommunications tower, timed for the 1992 Summer Olympics and was the subject of an international competition.

  • The single tower for several uses eliminated the prospect of a multiplicity of towers on the wooded hillside site. Together with the tower as an innovative slender tube, braced with cables, nature is preserved with minimum site impact.

  • Simultaneous construction of elements with a high degree of prefabrication further reduced environmental impact.

  • Publicly accessible observation platform at the pinnacle.

  • Open stacked decks provide flexibility for future change.
